Home for the Holidays Beer @ Red, White & Brew

Although we are a bit late for Veterans Day, Thanksgiving is right around the corner and so is Christmas. I just found this tidbit of information while perusing the website for Red, White & Brew in Mount Holly, NJ. [MAP]

From Red, White & Brew's website:

"The High & Mighty Beer Co brings you Home for the Holidays — a smooth, malty, warming brown ale, brewed with loads of roasted malts to give hints of chocolate and raisin liberally dosed with liberal Halletauer and Saaz hops, a fermented with a Belgian yeast strain. Perfect for cold nights in front of the fire - or to celebrate the return of a family member who’s been away.
Profits from the sale of this product will be donated to Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. www.iava.org"

So support the troops, the Holidays, and the general upkeep of merriment. Check out Red, White & Brew, and pick up a bottle today. Bring it to a party! Give it as a gift! Drink it!

Flying Fish Exit 1

From Flying Fish's website:
"The third stop on our multi-year trip to explore New Jersey through its beer and culture takes us to Exit 1.

The southwest bayshore has been supplying oysters to Americans since colonial times. Until the 1950s, hundreds of millions of oysters were harvested annually. Now, thanks to efforts by many organizations, the oyster is coming back.

Oysters and stout had long been associated in the UK, but the tradition was gradually lost. Exit 1, an “export style” stout brewed with oysters, celebrates this tasty combination. The creamy flavor of English chocolate and roasted malts harmonizes with minerals from the oyster shells. Irish ale yeast adds a bit of fruitiness and a dry crispness. This rich stout is perfect for cool weather–and especially delicious when paired with a few Jersey oysters on the half shell.

Beer brewed with oysters.
Alcohol 7.5% by Vol"
